Quincy, Ill.- The Greyhounds opened the 2007 slate 2-0, improving their record with a 5-0 victory against Upper Iowa Saturday in the Quincy Soccer Bowl. The Peacocks fall to 0-2 on the season with the loss.

The scoreboard was empty until the 44th minute. Jason Kreuzman (pictured) found the back of the net unassisted to send the teams to the halftime locker room with the Hounds up 1-0.

After the intermission, the Greyhounds would score four more times. Kreuzman assisted John Higgins on the second UIndy score just before the 57-minute mark, and then scored his second goal of the game in the 63rd minute.

Mar Wane connected for his first goal of 2007 just a minute later. Diego Lemus closed out the game's scoring with a score in the 88th minute that was assisted by Josiah Mullen.

Michael Crane earned the win in goal for the Greyhounds, making one save in his 90 minutes of work.

UIndy held the enormous edge in shots, taking 28 in the game to Upper Iowa's two. The Hounds also had the edge in corner kicks, taking seven to the Peacocks' zero.

The Greyhounds return to the field Friday at Gannon.
