INDIANAPOLIS - With a three-game trouncing of Indiana Tech at the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center on Wednesday night, the University of Indianapolis volleyball squad pushed its win streak to a record-tying ten matches by out-scoring the Warriors 30-14, 30-20 and 30-19.  The Hounds have started the season by winning 13 of their first 14 matches, which also ties a record set by both the '99 and 2000 teams.

UIndy (13-1, 4-0 GLVC) jumped on the visitors quickly, grabbing a 7-1 lead in game one and forcing a Warrior timeout.  Two aces from Beth Robbins fueled the early run.  The stoppage did little to slow down the Greyhounds as they scored 11 of the next 14 points.  Freshman Cheneta Morrison fired back-to-back aces in the same corner for the 16th and 17th points and Casey Chrzastowski killed the 18th to cap the run.  The Hounds quickly hit the 30-point mark as they tallied seven aces and a .440 hitting percentage in the opening game.

The second game proved more difficult through the early going.  The teams battled to a 17-14 score in favor of the Hounds before the home team created some separation.  UIndy finished the game on a 13-6 run to build a two-game lead.

Indiana Tech (7-9, 0-1 WHAC) grabbed its first lead of the match by scoring the first point of game three.  After a 4-4 tie, the Hounds pulled away with the help of a 16 kills and eight Tech attack errors.

Senior Casey Chrzastowski paced UIndy with 13 kills and 28 attack attempts.  Freshman Lyndsay Callahan exerted an all-around effort with eight kills, four aces and nine digs.  Sophomore Jessica Breeden compiled a healthy .438 hitting percentage by killing eight balls against a single attack error.

UIndy begins a tough conference stretch this weekend.  The Hounds host Bellarmine at 7 pm Friday night before facing East Division rival and 22nd-ranked Northern Kentucky on Saturday.

Notes:  Bolstered by 11 sweep victories, the Hounds have a 40-5 record in games played this season … UIndy’s 13 aces were the most since a 10/13/06 win over Oakland City, a span of 22 matches.
