Greyhounds take road victory

UIndy bests Ashland 3-0

Josiah Mullen scored the Greyhounds' third goal at Ashland Sunday.

ASHLAND, Ohio- The Greyhounds returned to their winning form Sunday afternoon, defeating Ashland 3-0. With the victory, UIndy runs its season record to 3-1 on the year, while Ashland falls to 0-3.

The Hounds got on the board for the first time just four minutes into the second half. Nick Eddy found the back of the net on a header from eight yards out at the 48:53 mark. Eddy took the ball off of a cross from Jon Walker.

Ben Reed made the second Greyhound score of the afternoon, sending a ball through the keeper's hands from 15 yards out. Reed made the unassisted goal in the 71st minute.

Four minutes later, Josiah Mullen (pictured) scored for the Hounds to close out the game's scoring. Mullen's goal was a 27-yard shot into the bottom right corner of the goal.

UIndy outshot Ashland 19-5 in the match. The Greyhounds also held the game's edge in corner kicks 5-1.

Michael Crane took the win between the posts for UIndy, making two saves in his complete-game effort.

Next on the slate for the Hounds is a match against Mercyhurst Friday. The contest will be played at Oakland City and is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
