ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – With the help of 112 digs, the University of Indianapolis defeated the defending Great Lakes Valley Conference champion Lewis University in four games, 30-26, 30-28, 21-30 & 30-24.  Five Greyhounds scooped at least 10 digs, including a four-game school record 33 from Kyleigh Turner.

Turner’s defensive effort marked the first time the Muncie, Ind. native surpassed 30 digs in a single match.  Her previous career-high came in a season-opening win over Charleston.  UIndy's team total was the highest four-game sum since a 10/1/05 match against Indiana (Pa.).

Offensively, UIndy (10-1, 2-0 GLVC) was led by Elizabeth Shuyler.  The senior co-captain tallied 17 kills for the second consecutive match while also adding a match-high five total blocks.

Three Hounds recorded double-doubles in the match, including Beth Robbins (56 assists, 15 digs), Brandi McAllister (11 kills, 17 digs) and Lyndsay Callahan (12 kills, 20 digs).  Ashley Fallos contributed 13 digs and six kills.

After 11 matches away from the Ruth Lilly Center, Indianapolis comes home to face in-state rival St. Joseph’s on Sep. 11.  The match is scheduled to start at 7 pm and will be shown on the UIndy Television Network.  Click here for more information.
