Volleyball picks up road win at Drury

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- The 24th-ranked University of Indianapolis volleyball team (19-4, 8-2 GLVC) put together a solid all-around match in a straight-set victory against Drury (9-20, 5-5) at Weiser Gym Thursday night.  UIndy registered 40 kills and 11 aces while out-hitting the Panthers by nearly 140 points to win by scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-16.  Freshman Abby Merritt led the Greyhounds with 13 kills while adding seven digs and two aces.
 
Setter Beth Robbins orchestrated a Greyhound offense that committed just nine attack errors and hit .248.  The senior co-captain totaled 38 assists and added six digs.
 
Freshman Courtney Anglemyer and sophomore Cheneta Morrison joined Merritt with double-digit kill totals.  Anglemyer compiled a robust .600 hitting percentage with 10 kills and only one error.  Morrison also attacked efficiently by hitting .423 and killing 12 balls.
 
Junior Kyleigh Turner tallied 20 digs and junior Jessica Breeden paced all players with three aces and two blocks.
 
UIndy continues its western swing by facing perennial power Rockhurst Saturday at 4 pm.
