OWENSBORO, Ky.-  Jeff Fahnbulleh scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the #24 Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers handed the Greyhound men's basketball team an 81-63 defeat at the Owensboro Sportscenter Thursday night.   KWC (20-3, 10-3 GLVC) moved into a tie for first place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference East division standings with the win.

Senior Justin Barnard notched career point number 1,000 early in the first half, on a bucket to tie the score at 7-7. A DeAndre Brock three-pointer midway through the opening stanza staked the Hounds to an 18-14 lead.  But, it would be the last time UIndy (12-8, 6-6) would be in front as KWC rattled off a 13-2 run over the next three-and-a-half minutes to make the score 27-20.  The Panthers pushed the lead to as many as 16, heading into the locker room with a 43-27 advantage.

The gap never dipped below 14 in the second half as the big KWC lineup outrebounded the Hounds by a whopping 40-20 margin.  Justin Barnard's triple with a man in his face helped get the lead to a manageable 15 with 9:12 left.   But, a 9-2 run by KWC helped return the sizable advantage, helping the Panthers to their 20th win of the season.

Brock once again led the Greyhounds in scoring with 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor.  Three Hounds were in double digits scoring as Justin Barnard and Tyke Cockerham each poured in 11.

Four Panthers had at least 13 points led by Fahnbulleh's 23.  T.J. Smith added 18, Rodney Edgerson 17 and Lorenzo Taylor 13 for KWC.

The Greyhounds continue their road trip heading just across the river, visiting Evansville, Ind. for a Saturday tilt with Southern Indiana.  Game time is scheduled for a 4:15 p.m. Eastern start.

Notes:  Justin Barnard sits in 35th place in the Greyhound record books with his 1,010 career points at UIndy ... He is also just ten rebounds shy of becoming just the 15th UIndy player to notch 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in a career ...  Brock tallied his eighth 20 point game this season and has scored in double figures in all 20 games this season.
