Altamonte Springs, Fla.- The No. 37-ranked Greyhound women's tennis team evened its season record with an 8-1 win over Bentley on neutral ground Tuesday. The Hounds upped their season ledger to 4-4 with the win.
Megan Farley (pictured) posted one of the five singles wins for Indianapolis, winning the No. 5 position in three sets. The junior won the first set, 6-3 but her opponent, Andrea Hollot, rallied for a 6-4 win in set number two. Farley then closed out the match with a 6-1 win in the final set to etch the victory.
Four other Greyhounds were victorious in straight-set fashion in singles play: #1 Lindsey Fischer, #2 Ashley Liles, #4 Laura Phillipp and #6 Aly Neidlinger.
All three doubles pairings were winners for the Greyhounds. Jeannie Hartley and Liles teamed to win at top doubles, 8-5. Kristen Volz and Phillipp were 8-3 victors at No. 2 and freshmen Ceciley Starkey and Kelsey Hartman outlasted their opponents, 9-7, at No. 3.
UIndy (4-4) remains in Florida over the spring break week and will play at Flagler College Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
