Volleyball stays unbeaten in conference play

Indianapolis 3, Bellarmine 0

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-  The University of Indianapolis volleyball team remained unbeaten in conference play with a 3-0 win at Bellarmine Friday night.  With much of the Bellarmine campus still without power after storms ripped through the area earlier this week, UIndy was lights-out on the court, closing out each set with multiple-point runs to stay atop the Great Lakes Valley Conference East standings.

UIndy (11-2, 4-0 GLVC) cleaned out the first set as Jessica Breeden served out the set's final points to earn a 25-19 win.  In set number two,  three straight kills from Lyndsay Callahan (pictured) helped springboard the Hounds from a 19-19 tie and the eventual 25-20 win.

The final set saw another strong Greyhound finish as Buff Crawford tallied a pair of kills to stretch a slim lead into a 23-17 advantage and the Hounds took the match with a 25-18 win.

Callahan had a match-high 12 kills and Cheneta Morrison chipped-in 10 for UIndy.  Kristina Hefferan posted an eight-kill effort and Beth Robbins contributed 36 assists in the win.

The Greyhounds remain on the road, facing Northern Kentucky Saturday afternoon in Highland Heights, Ky.  Match time is slated for 3:00 p.m.
