Hounds down GLVC-leading Drury

UIndy wins 3-2 against previously unbeaten Panthers

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- The Greyhounds downed previously unbeaten and GLVC-leading Drury 3-2 Sunday afternoon, to run their record to 4-3-2 on the season and 3-1-2 in conference play. The Panthers fall to 8-1 on the season and 5-1 in the GLVC.

Diego Lemus got the Hounds on the board a second before the 15-minute mark of play. Lemus, the GLVC’s reigning “Player of the Week” made the score on an assist from freshman Andrew Jones for his third goal of the season.

Jon Walker made the score an early 2-0 with his first goal of the season just after the 19-minute mark. Jones collected his second assist of the game by helping on Walker’s goal.

UIndy finished out the half with a third goal, with Micah Uemura (pictured) tallying his second score of the year in the 42nd minute to make the score 3-0. Uemura scored on a ball from Brian Fishback

The Panthers scored their first goal in the 83rd minute of the game, with Jake Allison finding the back of the net off of an assist by Ben Taylor. They would score a quick second just more than three minutes later, with Danny Collins scoring on a ball from Marco Cherisma.

UIndy led in shots, taking 12 to Drury's 11. The Panthers, however, were awarded five corner kicks to UIndy's two.

Michael Crane manned the net for the Greyhounds, making three saves and allowing both Drury goals in his 90 minutes of work.  

UIndy steps out of GLVC play with a Saturday match at Saginaw Valley State. The match is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m.
