LAS VEGAS -- Adrian Moss led four UIndy men's basketball players in double figures as it defeated Wilmington (Del.), 74-71, at The SouthPoint Arena in the first game of the Holiday Hoops Classic.

Moss scored 19 points with five rebounds and four assists for the Greyhounds (6-2), while Jarrett Hamilton came off the bench with 13 points, career-high nine rebounds and four assists. Cody Vest scored 12 points in his first game back with the program after he and Leland Brown re-joined the team at the end of the first semester. Wilbur O'Neal scored 11 points in 17 minutes before fouling out.

"Cody and Leland gave us some depth that we didn't have and allowed us to do some things we haven't been able to do this season," head coach Stan Gouard said.

The Greyhounds shot 42.3 percent (22-52) and made eight three-pointers against the Wildcats (4-5). After making just 2-of-14 free throws against Northern Kentucky, UIndy bounced back to make 22-of-30 (.733) on Friday night.

UIndy had two more rebounds, 38-36, and scored 12 second-chance points off nine offensive rebounds. The Hounds also took advantage of a deep bench for a 33-4 advantage in bench points.

"Even though we were a little rusty, I still thought we executed really well in the first half," Gouard said. "We got out-scored in the second half, but I liked how we fought and were able to secure the victory."

The Greyhounds scored on their first possession and eventually built an 11-point lead, 19-8, after Hamilton connected on two freebies with 12:23 to go in the first half. UIndy stretched the lead to 14, 33-19, after Moss canned a triple, but the Wildcats came back to close within six, 33-27, with 5:26 to go in the half.

UIndy responded to go back up by 13, 44-31, on a Hamilton three-pointer with 44 seconds left in the half and retained a 10-point lead at the break, 44-34. The Greyhounds shot 52 percent in the first half (13-25) with five three-pointers and made 13-of-16 free throws. They limited Wilmington to only two three-pointers and 4-of-6 at the line.

The Wildcats scored the first four points of the second half, but Vest hit his first three-pointer to put UIndy back up 12, 51-39, just over four minutes into the half. Four minutes later, the Greyhounds still led by 12, 60-48, when Wilmington started to climb back into the game. The Wildcats were within one possession, 65-62, with 5:22 to play, but Moss came back with a three-pointer and Hamilton converted a three-point play to put UIndy back up nine, 71-62.

The Greyhounds would only score three more points in the final 4:41, but were able to hold off Wilmington as Herb Dennis missed a three-pointer from just past half court at the buzzer.

Wilmington was led by Brandon Fox with 29 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, while Corye Payton scored 15 and Matthew King added 13 points and seven rebounds.

UIndy plays its final game of the Holiday Hoops Classic against St. Mary's (4-2) of San Antonio, Texas, at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday.
