PUEBLO, Colo.- A pair of Greyhounds will represent UIndy wrestling at the NCAA Division II National Wrestling Championships Mar. 9-10 at Massari Arena in Pueblo, Colo.
UIndy's
Bryce Givens and
Josh Kieffer will make the nationals trip for the Greyhounds. Givens, a redshirt-junior, is a two-time national qualifier (2010) at 157 pounds, while freshman Kieffer will be making his first nationals trip in the 125-pound weight class.
Givens (15-17) will open his tournament against Nebraska-Kearney's T.J. Hepburn (32-3). Hepburn, a senior, is the 2011 national runner up in the 149 weight class, and was third at 149 in 2010.
Kieffer (21-8) will face a familiar foe in Ashland's Brandon Davis (27-10) in the first round of nationals. Kieffer fell to Davis Jan. 21 at the Wisconsin-Parkside Duals, 6-3. The Eagle senior is making his second trip to nationals in 2012.
Wrestling begins Friday morning, with the 2012 NCAA Division II champions being crowned Saturday.
