INDIANAPOLIS – Junior Eric Davidson netted 32 points and flirted with the single-game 3-point record for the second time in a row, helping UIndy dominate Drury 87-66 Saturday inside Nicoson Hall.

Davidson poured in his first eight 3-pointers, finishing with identical shooting numbers from Thursday night, going 11 of 14 overall and 8 of 10 from deep.

UIndy (7-7, 4-2 GLVC) scorched the visiting Panthers (11-4, 4-3) – who were receiving votes in the latest NABC Top 25 – with a mix of efficient offense and stout defense. The Hounds shot an even 50 percent (32-64) from the field, while also coming up with 11 steals and five blocks.

After dropping 114 points two nights ago, the Greyhounds began Saturday's game just as hot offensively, knocking down 7 of their first 11 from deep and absolutely overwhelming their guests.

Using a lengthy 31-5 run, the Hounds' first-half lead swelled to as big as 28 at 46-18. Much of that came on the strength of Davidson's shooting touch, as he sank all five of this 3-pointers to finish the opening period with 19 points.

UIndy carried a sizeable 26-point advantage into the half, shooting 20 of 34 (58.8%) overall and 9 of 16 (56.3%) from beyond the perimeter. Drury, meanwhile, managed just 24 points, recording eight turnovers and three assists.

The second half was played much closer, but the game's outcome was determined long before the final horn sounded. Drury trailed by more than 20 points from the start of the period to the end.

Davidson finished with his third 30-point effort of the campaign, joining former Hound Jordan Loyd (2015-16) as the only individuals to produce as many games in one season since 2011-12.

UIndy out-rebounded Drury 39-32, paced by redshirt-junior Alex Etherington's career-best nine boards. Freshman Tate Hall also tied his previous best with seven rebounds.

Sophomore Jesse Kempson followed Davidson in the scoring column, tallying 15 points to go with five rebounds and a pair of blocks.

The Greyhounds totaled 18 assists on 32 buckets, led by redshirt-junior Ajay Lawton's eight.

The Greyhounds will have just one day off before their Monday night game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis against Saint Joseph's College.
