INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy men's basketball team (14-7, 8-5 GLVC) erased 13-point second-half deficit in a come-from-behind win versus the visiting Maryville Saints (16-6, 8-5) Saturday afternoon. Four Greyhounds finished in double figures as UIndy bests Maryville for the eighth time in as many tries.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In a match-up of teams tied for fourth in the GLVC standings, the Hounds trailed 39-31 at the half before the Saints pushed the lead to 13 points with 14 minutes left. UIndy went to work from that point, orchestrating a game-changing 21-7 run to regain the lead.
Â
The surge was capped by a deep transition three from freshman
Trevor Lakes, who pulled up from 28 feet and buried one of his four triples on the afternoon.
Â
The Hounds continued to make big shots down the stretch, as they knocked down five of seven from behind the arc in the final 12 minutes – three of which came from Lakes and two from senior
Eric Davidson.
Â
But it was senior guard
Ajay Lawton that paced the Greyhounds in scoring. The Westfield, Ind., product racked up a game-high 19 points on eight-of-13 shooting to go with two assists and two steals.
Â
Sophomore
Tate Hall amassed 10 points, seven rebounds and five dimes.
Â
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

HOUND BYTES
"We played small and we found space," Head Coach
Stan Gouard said of his lineup down the stretch. "
Trevor Lakes hit a lot of big shots down the stretch in a lot of big situations.
Â
"We just told them to go down and get another (defensive) stop. It was coming down to the last two minutes, and we wanted to make sure we understood the time and score situation. We wanted to make sure we had the right match-ups on the defensive end and we did that, and we came out victorious."
Â
UP NEXT
UIndy begins a four-game road swing next week when they travel to Missouri-St. Louis Thursday, Feb. 8 at 8:30 p.m. ET. The Hounds are off next Saturday.
