WESTFIELD, Ind. - The No. 7 UIndy baseball team (17-6, 3-3 GLVC) dropped consecutive games for the first this season on Friday afternoon at Grand Park, as the Hounds came up short in each contest to conference-foe Bellarmine. The Greyhounds could only scrape across two runs in each game.Â

Starting pitcher

The Knights' southpaw held the Greyhound offense in check as the Crimson and Grey only managed three hits in eight innings.
Conor White singled home
Hunter Waning and
Joe Kenney in the ninth off the Bellarmine bullpen after the visitors added another run in its half of the inning. The Hounds had two of their five hits in the final frame.Â

The Knights jumped on
Myc Witty in the first inning for two runs, but the Hounds responded with two of their own in the bottom of the frame.
Nick Miller hit an opposite-field double to score
Storm Joop before he came around to score when Kenney reached on an error by the Bellarmine shortstop.Â
Witty retired seven consecutive batters after the first before the wheels came off in the fourth inning. After allowing a lead-off single,
Michael Schalasky entered in relief to end the early Bellarmine threat. However, the visitors had a different idea, as they rattled off six runs in the inning to bust open a 8-2 lead. The Knights added a run off
John Hendry in the sixth inning, which would hold as a final of 9-2.
Of the seven knocks for the Hounds, four went for two bases, as Joop (twice), Miller, and
Trey Smith doubled. White had another hit in the nightcap, finishing two-for-five on the day.Â
UIndy and Bellarmine will finish the four-game set tomorrow with another doubleheader at Grand Park. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
