INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy women's lacrosse team (9-3, 5-2 GLIAC) is officially on another win streak with its 22-6 win over Concordia-St. Paul (6-3, 3-4) on Sunday afternoon at Key Stadium. Nine Hounds tallied goals in the victory, while
Peyton Romig secured nine more draws to increase her season total to 119.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Delaney Davidson found the back of the cage two minutes into the contest before
Grace Gunneson,
Lauryn Hardoy, and
Riley McClure each added scores to give the Hounds an early 4-2 advantage. UIndy scored eight more goals in the opening half, including three more from Hardoy and another pair from Davidson.
Anna Rulapaugh picked up a couple goals, while
Abigail Lagos scored her 23rd of the season.Â
Similarly to how the first half ended, the Greyhounds controlled most of the final 30 minutes of action, as
Irene Carlquist filled in for
Lauren Granville in the second frame and allowed just two goals to the Golden Bears. UIndy and Concordia exchanged a pair of goals in the first 13:13 of the half before the Hounds rattled off eight-consecutive scores to close out the game.
Destinie Katz notched her third straight game of at least six assists with a helper to Gunneson at the 14:12 mark, which begun a streak of four games in five minutes for the Greyhounds. After UIndy hit the 20-goal mark for the third straight contest, and sixth time overall this season,
Gina Jablonski and
Elyse Gleeson scored their second and third tally of the 2018 campaign, respectively.Â

Katz totaled 25 helpers during the Hounds' three wins this past week, raising her season total to 34. The sophomore has been a staple in the UIndy offense, assisting on 36.3 percent of the team's 69 goals during its current winning streak.Â
