SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Coming off a pair of losses at home against GLVC opponents, the UIndy women's basketball team was back in action Thursday night against No. 3 ranked Drury. Drury came into tonight's matchup undefeated with their average margin of defeat being over 30 points per game. The Hounds fell on the road to the Panthers, 77-47.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
UIndy hung around most of the first quarter, leading a couple of times throughout the game's initial minutes. 
Emma Benoit scored the first five points for the Greyhounds, Drury tried to pull away while UIndy's 
Taylor Drury made a three to give UIndy a 12-11 lead with four minutes to go in the quarter. The Panthers gradually pulled away, taking a 22-15 lead into the second period. Drury led by as much as 18 in the second period, 
Claire Carlton sunk a three for the Hounds to cut the lead to 15 with just over two and a half minutes to go in the half. UIndy locked down on defense from there and did not allow another Drury field goal heading into the break.
 
UIndy started to fall behind in the early stages of the third quarter, then came back with a 9-0 run of their own to force a Panther timeout with four minutes to go in the quarter. Drury started to pull away again towards the end of the third quarter like they did in the first heading into the game's final 10 minutes. 
Mya Scheidt recorded her first career points for the Hounds late in the fourth quarter with a three-pointer with just over 30 seconds left. The horn sounded and UIndy fell to the No. 3 ranked Panthers, 77-47 in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
