ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The UIndy women's lacrosse team (9-1, 6-0 GLIAC) set an NCAA Division II record on Wednesday evening at Lewis (1-3, 1-2 GLIAC), netting 31 goals in the 31-1 rout of the Flyers.

Emily Meyer led the offensive attack with eight points, while
Riley McClure scooped up three ground balls and caused two turnovers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds scored 17 times in the opening half, as
Grace Gunneson and
Krista Temple had a hat trick at the break. McClure controlled the defensive end for UIndy, recorded each of her caused turnovers and ground balls in the first 30 minutes.

Hannah Burczyk and
Peyton Romig finished off their respective hat trick in the second half, while
Aisling Roberts tallied a pair of goals in just her third game of the season. Senior captain
Laura McKee recorded a caused turnover, while
Abby Byrd and
Caroline Wood each picked up a ground ball.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Greyhound defense swallowed the Flyers' attempt to clear the ball all night, limiting the hosts to a 20 percent mark (three-of-15). As a clearing unit, however, UIndy went a perfect six-for-six.

The Hounds connected on 31 of their 35 shots on goal, a whopping 88.5 percent success rate. Fifteen different UIndy players tallied at least one attempt on frame.

Romig dominated the draw circle, securing 17-of-34 on the evening. As a team, the Greyhounds won 28 draws.

Abby Wilmot netted the record-breaking score with less than three minutes remaining.
