#12 Greyhounds Rout Railsplitters in Non-Conference Bout

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The No. 12-ranked UIndy women's lacrosse team (10-1) ventured out of conference play this week, earning a 23-4 win at Lincoln Memorial Tuesday evening. Junior Grace Gunneson racked up career-high seven goals to help up the Greyhounds' win streak to eight games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Already leading Division II in scoring offense, scoring defense and scoring margin, the Hounds improved on all three statistics in the lopsided victory. Gunneson was nearly unstoppable, racking up her seven goals on nine shots. Her goal total tied a UIndy season best, matching the seven tallies scored by Lauryn Hardoy versus Lake Erie last month.

The Railsplitters (9-4) hung around early, trailing by a manageable three goals seven minutes into the first half. The Greyhound locked them down from that point, however, running off 14 unanswered over the next 19 minutes of play.

The Greyhound offense was sparked by Peyton Romig and Riley McClure, who combined for 19 of UIndy's 21 draw controls. Defensively, Trisha Koning amassed game-high-tying totals of four ground balls and two caused turnovers.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Sophomore Destinie Katz once again led the Hounds in assists with five to go with a pair of goals. She came into the day ranking third in DII at 4.13 assists per contest.
- The Hounds were a perfect 13-for-13 on clear attempts.
- Freshman middie Jess Soenen scored a season-high five goals and added two ground balls.
- UIndy racked up nearly three times as many shots as its host, pacing them 43-14 in the category. The Hounds allowed just six shots and one goal in the second half.
- None of LMU's goals featured an assist

MORE NOTES
LMU is now 0-2 versus ranked DII teams this season; 9-2 versus all other opponents … UIndy has allowed four goals or less in seven of the last eight contests.
