GREENWOOD, Ind.- For the sixth-straight year, the UIndy Men's Tennis team will play in an NCAA Division II Midwest Regional final, as the top-seeded Greyhounds downed eight-seed Missouri-St. Louis in Regional semifinal action at Center Grove High School Saturday morning.
UIndy, currently ranked #19 in NCAA Division II, took the doubles point in just less than a half hour. The Greyhound twos,
Magnus Mueller and
Renato Lima, were the first to notch a win, 6-1. The three doubles squad of
Nils Hoffacker and Maximillion Witthaus clinched the doubles point with a 6-0 victory.
Mueller was the first to win on the singles court, taking a 6-1, 6-0 win at #4.
Dario Huber took a #3 singles win, 6-2, 6-3, to put the Hounds up 3-0, before the Tritons won at five singles.
Nils Hoffacker iced the win for UIndy with a 6-4, 6-4 win at two singles, leaving #1 and #6 singles unfinished.Â
The Greyhounds (16-5) advance to Sunday's NCAA Division II Midwest Regional I final to face off with four-seeded Ferris State. First serve from Center Grove High School is slated for 11 a.m.
