ST. LOUIS – The No. 23 UIndy men's basketball team (11-4, 3-4 GLVC) had four players in double figures and hit 10 shots from behind the arc Saturday but could not hold off 18-ranked Missouri-St. Louis (15-2, 6-1), falling 69-66 in a tough GLVC road contest.
Senior
Jordache Mavunga led the Greyhounds with 16 points, while sophomore
Jacob Polakovich recorded his second double-double of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Facing the conference's top defensive team, the Greyhounds splashed six 3-pointers in the first half alone and led by as much as eight points in the second half. But a 10-0 Triton run gave the home team its first lead of the day with 12:29 left, 48-46.
Â
The teams would continue to trade big shots, as seven ties and five leads changes occurred in the final 13-plus minutes. Mavunga,Â
Jimmy King and
Marcus Latham all hit clutch threes for UIndy down the stretch, but UMSL seemed to find an answer each time.
Â
Trailing by a deuce in the final minute, the Greyhound defense got the stop it needed and called a timeout with 13.9 seconds to go. But on the ensuing possession, the Tritons forced a turnover before the Hounds could get a shot up to all but seal it.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
