INDIANAPOLIS – A pair of double-doubles and some hot second-half shooting fueled the No. 15 UIndy men's basketball team (22-5, 14-5 GLVC) on Thursday night, as the Greyhounds shot nearly 60 percent in the final 20 minutes to defeat the visiting McKendree Bearcats (14-13, 9-10 GLVC) at Nicoson Hall, 96-91.

Jimmy King tallied a career-high 28 points and 12 assists to lead the Hounds, while sophomore
Jacob Polakovich dominated inside the paint in the second half with 16 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
A King buzzer-beater just before the break set up a 24-10 stretch for the Greyhounds, with Polakovich capping the run with a layup at the 13:12 mark of the second half.

King and McKendree's Stephen Oliver traded 3-pointers at the midway point of the half, as the teams stared at 71-all tie heading down the stretch.
Jordache Mavunga hit his lone bucket after the break to quickly give the Hounds a six-point advantage moments later, but the Bearcats refused to go away and knotted the contest at 89 with 2:19 on the scoreboard.

The UIndy defense came alive in the final two minutes, with King scoring the final five points to guide the Hounds to the win.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Polakovich added 10 rebounds to his 16 points on Thursday, recording six in the second half.
- King's 28 tallies is the 10th time in his career the Indianapolis native has scored at least 20 points. The Roncalli alum is now just 26 assists from matching Ron Rutland's program record of 547.

Trevor Lakes caught fire in the second half, scoring all 14 of his points after the break. The junior finished four of nine from 3-point range, upping his season average to 41.5 percent.

Cory Miller Jr. finished with 23 points, highlighted by a nine-for-10 effort from the charity stripe. The junior transfer drilled a pair of baseline 3-pointers in the win.
- The Hounds recorded 20 assists as a team for the fifth time this season, with Miller Jr. following King with three helpers.
