Greyhounds Net Another In-Region Victory

FINDLAY, Ohio – Abigail Lagos and Lauryn Hardoy combined for 13 goals on Sunday, as the No. 9 UIndy women's lacrosse team (5-0) continued its best start in program history with a 20-8 victory at in-region Findlay (1-2).

Junior draw specialist Peyton Romig was spectacular inside the circle once again, winning 14 times, while adding four caused turnovers and two ground balls.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Oilers kept hanging around on Sunday, but the Hounds took control at the midway point of the first half when Jess Soenen put the visitors up 8-3. UIndy tallied six of the final seven goals of the opening half hour, with Lagos scoring three times and Hardoy following suit with a pair during the stretch.

A running clock was instituted for most of the second half, with Destinie Katz scoring her second goal of the day to propel a 17-7 advantage. Hardoy joined Grace Gunneson late in the period with a man-down goal, as Lagos finished the scoring with her career-best seventh score as time expired.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Lagos is just the fifth Greyhound ever to score at least seven goals in a single game.
- Kara Antonucci and Hannah Bunce joined Romig with a team-high two caused turnovers in the win.
- Hardoy has now recorded at least four points in four games this season after tallying a season-high seven against Findlay.
- Although just making four saves on 12 shots, sophomore keeper Cassidy King scooped up four ground balls to secure a new Greyhound possession.
- Sophomore middie Jess Soenen was the fifth and final Hound to score on Sunday, netting a pass from Katz at the 13:59 mark of the first half.
