INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 8 UIndy's women's lacrosse team (7-0) hosted Colorado St.-Pueblo (1-2) in a matchup at Key Stadium before spring break on Friday night. The Greyhounds downed the Thunderwolves early on a final score of 22-3.
Nine different Greyhounds made their way into the back of the net for the second-straight game, including a team-leading four goals by junior
Lauryn Hardoy.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hounds came out of the gates swinging, scores four unanswered goals in less than two minutes of action.
Destinie Katz came out as the Greyhounds' main facilitator, distributing nine assists alone in the first half to push UIndy to a hefty 14-2 lead.
Grace Gunneson compiled a hat trick within the first half as one of the dominant scorers, including a back-to-back score from Katz both times.
The second half featured only unassisted goals for the Greyhounds, as six different student-athletes made their way into the Thunderwolves' net to finish out the game.
Peyton Romig and
Quinn Malcolm each had two goals in the second half of the contest, giving them both a hat trick on the night as well.
Romig once again controlled the draws by totaling 13, while
Riley McClure also contained six during the matchup.
Kara Antonucci led the team with four ground balls scooped up on the night.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Katz's nine assists in the game was not only a season-high for her, but was one shy of her school record of 10.
- Lagos' four scores on four shots-on-goal keeps her as the team's leader in points, totaling 37 so far this season.
- UIndy minimized Pueblo's offense with the Thunnderwolves' 17 turnovers, only allowing three goals on the night.

The No. 8 Hounds' next three games will be some of the toughest, starting out with a road trip to Sparks, Md. The Greyhounds will take on No. 3 Le Moyne on their home turf on Thursday, March 12 at 12 p.m.
