INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy senior
Pilar Echeverria finds herself in rare company these days, as the most accomplished student-athlete in program history is positioned 69th in the
World Amateur Golf Rankings – highest amateur ranking ever held by a Greyhound golfer.
Also the highest-ranked amateur in her home country of Guatemala, Echeverria holds numerous UIndy records, including lowest scoring average in a season (71.56), lowest career average (72.99), lowest 36-hole score (-9), lowest 54-hole score (-7), most individual tournament titles (16) and most GLVC Player of the Week accolades (16).
The reigning DII Player of the Year, Echeverria is currently a three-time GLVC Player of the Year and three-time WGCA All-America First Team honoree. She hopes to add to her already-crowded trophy case soon, as both aforementioned organizations will be announcing postseason awards soon, starting with the GLVC on Wednesday, April 15.
