EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The UIndy women's basketball team kicked off a three-game week with a road trip to Southern Indiana Turesday night. Despite a career-high 15 points from
Mya Scheidt, the Greyhounds were unable to complete the season sweep of the Screaming Eagles, falling 56-51.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Through the first half, both teams maintained a strong presence on defense with neither team shototing above 42 percent from the field. The Hounds were able to scrap together a run off of a pair of 3-pointers from Scheidt, leading them on a swift 8-0 run to help push a first-half lead 25-23.
Southern Indiana bounced back after a tough second quarter, ending the third quarter of play by nailing six of their last seven attempts in the quarter. USI was able to keep UIndy grounded in the fourth, holding them scoreless in the first four-and-a-half minutes of game time. Scheidt was able to hit three more 3-pointers in the final four minutes to bring the contest to a close score off of great looks from
Mickey Sasson, but the Hounds' 30-percent shooting in the second half was a hole was too deep for them to come back from.
