Hounds Extend Win Streak to Five, Down Cardinals 4-0

INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 21 ranked Greyhounds continued to prove their conference dominance against the William Jewell Cardinals on Friday afternoon at Key Stadium, taking the 4-0 win and advancing their overall record to 7-1 and their conference record to 5-1.
 
Natalie LoGrasso made her first mark as a Greyhound, scoring her first goal of her career off a Dana Youssef corner kick in the 40th minute. The goal would wrap up the first half with the Greyhounds topping the Cardinals, 1-0.
 
"We dominated the play in the first half," said Holly Cox. "We were just missing that final delivery and we readjusted at half and it showed,"
 
With a physical first half, the Hounds found themselves drawing six fouls and committing four. While also taking 10 shots on goal and earning four corners in just the first half. They would end the match with 17 shots on goal and six corner kicks.
 
Kicking off the second half was a goal by Kiki Sauceda, who shot a deflected goalkeeper save back into the net of the Cardinals, putting the Hounds up 2-0 and earning her ninth goal of the season.  The Greyhounds didn't stop there, with Maria Herrero and Mady Meiring adding goals. Herrero marking her third and Meiring scoring her first of her Greyhound Career.
 
Sophia Saucerman manned the goal for the Greyhounds for all 90 minutes, while the Greyhounds back line kept the William Jewell offense tamed throughout the match.

-The Cardinals only took two shots throughout the entirety of the match
-William Jewell committed 13 fouls, while the Greyhounds committed 10
-The Hounds took 17 shots on goal, 13 being saved by the William Jewell goalkeeper.

The Greyhounds will look to extend their win streak to six on Sunday at Key Stadium as they face GLVC-foe, Truman, at 12 p.m. ET.
