Hounds Gear Up for Thanksgiving Classic

INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy men's basketball has a full slate of game this holiday week, hosting the 2021 UIndy Thanksgiving Classic inside Nicoson Hall.

THANKSGIVING CLASSIC
The Greyhounds host the 2021 UIndy Thanksgiving Classic this week inside Nicoson Hall on Nov. 23 and 24. Tuesday's action kicks off at 5 pm with UIndy facing Ohio Valley. The nightcap at 7:30 features fellow GLVC-member Illinois Springfield versus Northwood. Wednesday kicks off at 12 pm with Illinois Springfield playing Ohio Valley. The Hounds take the court at 2:30 pm to take on Northwood. The fifth game in two days features the UIndy women battling Lake Erie at 5 pm. All five games will be livestreamed on the GLVC Sports Network.

TUESDAY vs. OHIO VALLEY | 5 pm ET
SCOUTING OHIO VALLEY
The Fighting Scots are 0-3 on the year with losses to Campbellsville, Cumberlands and IU East.  Ohio Valley has averaged 72.7 points per game and has outrebounded their opponents 36 rpg to 34.7 rpg. The Fighting Scots have lost the turnover battle this year, committing 18.7 tpg to their opponents 17.0 tpg. Andre Leavell paces the team with 20.3 points per game while Parker Black and Nick Hargrove average 15.0 and 12.0 respectively. Vukasin Garic leads the team with 21 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 rebounds.

SERIES HISTORY vs. FIGHTING SCOTS
This will be the first meeting between the two teams. This is the first season that OVU is in the NAIA and the River States Conference (RSC) after making the transition from NCAA Division II and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

WEDNESDAY vs. NORTHWOOD | 2:30 pm ET
SCOUTING NORTHWOOD
Northwood boasts a 1-2 record after a pair of losses at Hillsdale and Findlay last week. They were selected to finish fifth of five in the GLIAC South Division. The Timberwolves returned a pair of All-GLIAC second team honorees in guards Maurion Scott and Jack Ammerman. This season, Northwood has allowed 88.7 points per game while scoring 74.3 ppg themselves. Three players are averaging in double figures per game in Ammerman (19.0), Trevor Davis (12.0) and Scott (10.3). Davis paces the team with 3.3 assists per game while DeSean Munson tabs 8.0 rebounds
per game.

SERIES HISTORY vs. TIMBERWOLVES
Wednesday marks the tenth ever meeting between the two teams with UIndy holding the 8-1 all-time advantage. The Hounds have won the last two match ups in 2018 and 2019 with both wins coming on neutral courts. This will mark Northwoods first visit to Nicoson Hall since Nov. 2017.
