Hounds Fall by Five to Butler in Final Exhibition

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis men's basketball team made the short trip north on Friday night to take on Butler University inside the historic Hinkle Fieldhouse.  In their final exhibition match up of the week the Hounds trailed by four with under three minutes left, but the Bulldogs held on for the 73-68 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first two baskets of the game belonged to UIndy as Kendrick Tchoua opened with a lay up followed by a second from Cory Miller Jr.  Butler fought back until a Ben Nicoson jumper in the paint halted their run.

The Hounds utilized a 7-0 run to take a 23-21 lead at the 6:28 mark.  Nicoson started it with a three before back-to-back lay ups from Tchoua and Josiah Tynes.  The Bulldogs responded with a jumper before a Josh Hines three put UIndy ahead once again.  The first half alone saw seven lead changes as the Bulldogs took a 37-31 lead to the locker room.

Midway thru the second half Butler nailed a three that would go on to be their only double digit lead of the game.  Moments later Aaron Etherington was fouled on a three and sunk all three free throws to keep the Hounds alive.

Miller Jr. knocked back a three at the 3:29 mark to pull the Hounds within five.  Less than minute later Tchoua sunk a free throw to cut the deficit to four with 2:31 remaining.  The Hounds kept fighting but ultimately fell 73-68.
