INDIANAPOLIS-  The UIndy wrestling team comes in at #12 in the final National Wrestling Coaches Association Division II Coaches Poll of the season, released Friday morning.

The Greyhounds are in the 12-spot behind four individually ranked wrestlers. Dawson Combest again headlines the ranked Hounds, holding at #2 at 157. Andrew Sams also retained his ranking, the #3 spot at 174. Jack Eiteljorge moved to #7 at 165, while true freshman Logan Bailey made his rankings debut in the #12 spot at 149. 

Nebraska-Kearney took over the #1 spot, after being #2 previously. Lindenwood moved into the #2 spot with 78 total points, with previous top-ranked St. Cloud State in the three-spot with 73 points. Gannon (65 points) and McKendree (64 points) held their rankings at #4 and #5, respectively, while Central Oklahoma, Ashland, West Liberty, Adams State and Mercyhurst round out the top 10. 

The Great Lakes Valley Conference has the most of its member institutions ranked, with five of the Top 25 competing in the GLVC, including two of the top five in #2 Lindenwood and #5 McKendree. The GLVC also leads all conferences with 20 ranked wrestlers, three of which are #1. Super Region 3, in which UIndy competes, is second nationally with six ranked teams and 19 total ranked wrestlers.

Next up for the #12 Hounds is the 2021 NCAA Super Region 3 Tournament, Feb. 27 at Tiffin. Those qualifying from the Super Region event will compete at the 2021 NCAA Division II National Championships in St. Louis March 12-13.
