The Hounds combined a near no-hitter defensively with an offensive assault from the plate to run-rule the Stars in five innings.

Both O'Connor and
Lexy Rees had home runs to power the offense, with Gianni Iannatone adding a three-run double to get the scoring started in the first. Meanwhile, Waters (8-1) did not allow a single hit until the fifth and ultimately final frame.

GAME 2 | UIndy 7, UIS 0
The story line continued in game two, with a complete-game shutout from the circle and two more dingers jumping off the UIndy bats.

Freshman
Kenzee Smith and her stellar change-up remained a mystery to opposing hitters, as the hometown product upped her record to a perfect 6-0 Â in seven scoreless. She struck out nine and walked zero while allowing two harmless hits.

O'Connor blasted her second homer of the day with a solo shot in the second, while
Haylie Foster sent a three-run bomb to deep center to cap the scoring in the sixth.

Foster finished with a team-high five ribbies on the day, while O'Connor reached base five times in six plate appearances.
