INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 5 ranked UIndy softball team (31-2, 20-0 GLVC) completed another perfect weekend, sweeping visiting Southwest Baptist Sunday at Baumgartner field. The Greyhounds downed the Bearcats by scores of 6-1 and 10-0 to up their win streak to 24 and remain undefeated in GLVC play.

The Hounds' current 24-game hot streak is good for the fourth-longest winning streak in school history, while its 20 consecutive conference wins marks the second-longest such streak for the program. The 2013 team holds the current record for both overall and GLVC win streaks at 38 and 25, respectively.

Furthermore, UIndy's win-loss record of 31-2 represents its third-best start to a season through 33 games, as both the 2012 and 2016 clubs started 32-1.

GAME 1 | UIndy 6, SBU 1
The teams battled through fourth-and-a-half scoreless frames to start the day until the Hounds brought the hammer down in the bottom of the fifth.

With two unearned tallies already on the board, the aforementioned hammer came in the form of
Taylor Danielson's bat. Coming off a two-homer, four-RBI day Saturday, the Twin Lakes, Wis., native cleared the bases with a three-run bomb to left field, staking to Hounds to a 5-0 lead.

Later, freshman
Sydnee Perry got all of one for a solo shot in the sixth, good for her first collegiate home run.

Senior pitcher
Hallie Waters moved to 16-1 on the season, giving up one run and striking out five in five-plus innings. Senior
Haylie Foster came on to get the six outs from the circle.

UIndy's propensity for the long ball continued in game 2 as sophomore catcher
Lexy Rees delivered a three-run dinger in the first inning and the Hounds didn't look back.

Gianni Iannantone added an RBI double and Perry tacked on a two-run single – both in the third inning.

Meanwhile, freshman hurler
Kenzee Smith kept her season ERA under 1.00 with her eighth shutout of the year. She fanned five and allowed just one hit to move her pitching record to a perfect 14-0.

The Hounds have homered in each of the last six games, connecting for 18 round-trippers in that span.
