Hallie Waters, who went on to get the win. She struck out seven and walked only in in 5 2/3 innings, moving to 17-1 on the season.
GAME 2 | UIndy 9, S&T 1
After a shaky first inning, Smith settling in to retire 19 of the final 20 batters to complete her first career no-no. The hometown product walked each of the first three Miners she faced, but after getting a strikeout and a inducing a pair of groundouts, she escaped with just one run allowed and completely shut down S&T from there. She fanned six and pitched around five walks to move to 16-1 on the year.
Offensively, the Hounds tagged opposing pitchers for seven hits while benefiting from six S&T defensive errors to run-rule their hosts in six innings. Both O'Connor and
Sydnee Perry earned two-run singles to lead the UIndy bats.
