DEARBORN, Mich. – The UIndy women's golf team joins the best teams in the country this week at the 2021 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships. Twelve teams and 72 individuals win be vying for a national championship at year's marquee tournament, set for May 11-15 at TPC Michigan in Dearborn, Mich.
 
The format will begin with 54-holes of stroke play, with the top eight teams advancing to the medal/match-play quarterfinals. The quarters and semis will be played on Friday, with the remaining two teams competing for the team national championship Saturday. The individual medal will be handed out on Thursday at the conclusion of stroke play.
 
The Greyhounds are looking to continue an impressive run at the DII Championships. UIndy is the only school in Division II with an active streak of six consecutive top-five finishes at Nationals. TNo other school a streak of more than three. The Hounds' recent run includes national championships in 2015 and 2018 as well as a runner-up showing in 2016.
 
In May of 2019 – the last time the championships were held, the Greyhounds qualified for medal/match-play and advanced to the semifinals. Three of the Hounds from that team will again be in the lineup this week, as the All-America trio of Pilar Echeverria, Cailyn Henderson and Anna Kramer return for another title run. Junior Elyse Stasil and sophomore Hunter Nugent will be making their first appearances at the national tournament.
 
Currently ranked No. 5 in the Golfstat.com DII team rankings, UIndy will be paired with the No. 1- and No. 2-ranked teams on Tuesday in Dallas Baptist and Lynn. The Hounds will be teeing off in 11-minute intervals from hole 10 beginning at 10:52 a.m. ET. Live results will be available here.
 
UIndy earned a spot at in the championship field after capturing the team title at the NCAA DII East Regional last week. Henderson won the individual medal with a 54-hole score of +3.
