GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The UIndy women's basketball team (5-4, 3-1 GLVC) went 27-of-29 from the free throw line on Wednesday night against Davenport (5-4, 0-2 GLIAC) but ultimately fell in a non-conference road game by a final of 69-63.

In total, 11 different players found their way in the scorebook tonight for the Greyhounds. At the top,

HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite UIndy shooting 2-for-13 from the field through the first 10 minutes to open the game, a perfect 8-of-8 mark from the line picked up some slack and kept the team trailing within arm's reach of the Panthers. A big turning point in the opening half came when UIndy rattled off a 7-0 scoring run with under two minutes remaining which eventually rolled over into a four point halftime advantage. Notably, Ortiz had 10 points in the second quarter alone.
Â
After producing another 7-0 scoring run out of the halftime locker room, things looked good for UIndy as the team garnered an eight point advantage midway through the third. However, Davenport completely turned the tables and answered with a 10-0 run of its own to put the game back into a back-and-forth battle. This eventually spiraled into a final quarter of play that saw the Panthers out-score the Hounds by six after UIndy shot a dreadful 2-of-15 from the field. This helped Davenport lock up the home win.
