ST. LOUIS- UIndy Wrestling posted it's highest NCAA DII Championship finish in program history, with two National Finalists and four total All-Americans propelling the Greyhounds to a sixth-place finish at the 2022 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships.

Both Andrew Sams (174) and Derek Blubaugh (197) closed out their seasons in the NCAA Finals Saturday evening, after Logan Bailey (149) and Dawson Combest (157) earned their podium spots in the day's earlier session. In all, the Greyhounds put up 48.5 team points to finish sixth. Nebraska-Kearney took the team title with 127.0 team points, with Central Oklahoma (86), West Liberty (75.5), St. Cloud State (67.0) and Adams State (65.0) rounding out the top five.

Sams faced off with Minnesota State's Trevor Turriff in the 174 title match, with the bout a rematch of last year's NCAA semifinal. Turriff, the bracket four-seed, came away with the win 3-2 over the three-seed Sams to put the Greyhound in the National Runner-up spot to close out his career.
