Smith flirted with perfection in the opener. Already with a no-hitter on her resume this young season, the Indy native sat down the first 16 Lady Jackets in order before a leadoff single in the bottom of the fifth produced the first base runner of the day for the home team. Smith kept the shutout intact, however, amassing 10 Ks and zero walks to up her record to 6-1.

Meanwhile, the Greyhound bats continued to pummel opposing pitchers, racking up multiple runs in each of the first four innings. The top of the lineup was in the mix throughout the game, as leadoff-hitter
Maddy Stout and two-hole occupant
Megan Nichols combined for five hits, four runs and five RBIs. Stout's two-run triple in the third proved to lone extra-base hit of the game.
Â
The Hounds finished with 15 hits in all, with
Tara Williams,
Haylie Foster and
Sydnie Foster each notching a pair of knocks to fuel the hit parade. Pinch-hitters

Piper Belden tacked on base hits in the fifth inning.
Â
Eight of the Hounds' nine offensive starters scored at least one run.
