INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis men's and women's team have both received No. 1 ranking in the Midwest Region in the most recent NCAA Regional Rankings as released by officials on Monday.
The Women's team holds the one spot with a 9-1 record and a 5-0 regional record over Grand Valley State who sits in the No. 2 and GLVC Foe's Southwest Baptist at three. The Hounds are one of four Great Lakes Valley teams to receive a ranking, other teams include Drury and Lewis.
Led by No. 10 ranked
Isabella Dunlap and One Position singles player,
Anna Novikova. Dunlap currently holds a 10-3 singles record and Novikova with a 15-3 record.
In doubles, Novikova has of late taken four straight doubles matches alongside of
Maria Solnyshkina.
On the men's side, the Hounds led the Midwest with a 10-3 record and a 6-0 in-region record. They hold the No. 1 position over Wayne State (MI) who holds a 13-3 record currently. The Greyhounds sit above GLVC teams McKendree, Drury, and Lewis within the rankings.
Nikolaj Talimaa currently leads the Hounds with a nearly perfect singles record, having only recorded one loss thus far in the season and has recorded two straight wins in doubles alongside of
Zac Faveri.
Faveri and
Tom Zeuch have been ranked within the Top-10 over the course of the season having recorded 10 wins on the double's courts
