INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 2 University of Indianapolis women's lacrosse team was all gas on Tuesday night, showing its offensive power in a 23-5 win over Notre Dame College under the lights of Key Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons were the first to draw blood, scoring just over the 12-minute mark. UIndy wouldn't take that for long, as
Abigail Lagos scored four straight goals to kick off the Hounds 10 goal streak in the first half.
Three goals from Notre Dame in the second quarter ended the half with the Hounds up 13-4.
Sarah Klein kicked off the third, scoring within the first minute of the second half, while Lagos finished the third quarter by breaking her own career record of goals in a game by netting her eighth goal.
UIndy continued to show its offensive dominance, ending the game up on the Falcons 23 to 5. The Greyhounds earned 20 free position shots, capitalizing to earn 9 of their goals.
Lagos led the Greyhound offense in goals and points with eight while picking up two ground balls and causing two turnovers.
Peyton Romig contributed three goals and one assist, along with 13 draw controls.
Defensively
Bella Schorr led the charge for the Hounds with two caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls while also notching a goal.
Sarah Klein earned two caused turnovers, ground balls, and a draw control on top of two goals.
INSIDE THE BOX
-The Hounds held the Falcons to eight shots, while taking 51 shots of their own.
-UIndy forced 21 turnovers, and made all but one of it's clear attempts.
-The Hounds took 20 draw controls over Notre Dame's 12.
