INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis women's lacrosse team earned its second win in conference play after defeating the Missouri Western State University Griffons 14-3 on Friday afternoon in Key Stadium.
 
The match up was dedicated to the One Love Foundation, which was in honor of Yeardley Love. To learn more about the One Love Foundation go to joinonelove.org.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Mackenzie Winn was the first to score off of a pass from Abigail Lagos, followed by three more Hounds goals and the lone first half Griffons goal. Ending the first fifteen minutes up 4-1.
 
The Hounds scored four more to end the first half, led by Lagos, who wrapped up the first half with two goals of her own. Winn kicked off the third and Lagos would put the Hounds into double digits. The Greyhounds ended the second half with Quinn Malcolm who scored the final Hounds goal of the game.
 
UIndy completed all 19 of their clear attempts and held Missouri Western to just nine of its 13 attempts. Kara Antonucci and Mekayla Montgomery led the charge on the defense with three caused turnovers a piece, while Montgomery picked up four ground balls and four draw controls.
 
Abigail Lagos led the UIndy offense with five goals, and three assists. While Mackenzie Winn notched three goals of her own.
 
Audrey Moran and Cassidy King split time in goal, with Moran earning three saves and King earned two saves.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-The Hounds forced 16 turnovers and had only nine.
-UIndy picked up fifteen ground balls.
-Indianapolis took eight free position shots.
