SPARKS, Md. – The University of Indianapolis women's lacrosse team has had four players named to the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division II All-American teams as announced by the publisher on Wednesday afternoon.
Headlining the first team is Graduate Student and team captains,
Abigail Lagos and
Peyton Romig. Lagos and Romig both earned the All-American honors last year and repeat after leading the Hounds to a Great Lakes Valley Tournament Championship and a 18-1 record. Lagos leads the Greyhounds in goals and assists on the season with 85 and 24. While Romig has earned 222 draw controls and led the Hounds as an offensive and defensive force with 33 goals.
On the third team is defensive powerhouse,
Kara Antonucci, who has earned 13 caused turnovers, picked up 12 groundballs, and is second on the team in draw controls with 53. Antonucci has helped the Hounds in allowing just 95 goals on the season with a schedule that included several top ranked teams.
Senior goalkeeper,
Cassidy King, received an honorable mention. Having been named the goalkeeper of the year by the GLVC – King has allowed just 44 goals in 139 shots faced. Serving in the goal in the second half of most games, King has racked up a save percentage of .564.
The Greyhounds kick off the NCAA Midwest Regional against GLVC-foe Lindenwood on Friday afternoon in Key Stadium.
