INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis women's soccer team dropped their second-straight home contest on Friday night, falling to the Missouri S&T Miners by a score of 1-0. Despite the scoreboard, the Greyhounds had plentiful opportunities, with them taking 16 shots with seven towards net.
Â
Sabrina Shaw, the Division I Iowa-transfer, saw her first start as a Greyhound. In her 90 minutes Shaw faced six shots with a pair of saves.

INS & OUTS
The Miners began their attack with an early set piece, grabbing the first shot at the 3rd minute of play.
Sarah Wegener responded two minutes later with a hard shot at the bottom right of the net, being saved by the Miners Keeper. Wegener and
Genevieve Crocker kept the pressure on as both teams traded possession early on. The rain continued to hold off as the team fought to a draw after the first 45.
Â
The second period saw some early contact from both squads with
Mia Winters getting slapped with a yellow card. That would be the turning point offensively for the Miners as they rattled off a pair of shots after the card, with the second landing in the back in the net, going just past the outstretched hands of Shaw.
Â
The Hounds developed an attack of their own to answer, but
Chloe Noon's opportunity fell just right of the goal. The Miners played stout defense to end the contest, preventing what would have been a final-second game tying goal by
Zy'Aire Parker which was just inches from going in.
