#14 Flyers Drop Greyhounds in Four Sets

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The University of Indianapolis volleyball squad returned to GLVC-conference action this Saturday, fresh off their participation in the 15th annual Midwest Region Crossover the previous weekend. Matched up with the No. 14-ranked Lewis Flyers, the Hounds fought for an upset, but fell just short dropping the contest in four sets.

Hannah Sabotin, in her return to the court after missing the crossover, made an instant impact leading the Hounds in kills with 9 on just 18 attack opportunities.

Grace Hegwood and Lauren Peal spearheaded the defensive effort for the Hounds, with the pair having 13 and 12 digs to their names in the match.

INS & OUTS
The Flyers were off to the races in the first set, embarking on an early 10-3 run to set their first set in motion. Despite the Hounds' 28 attack attempts, they were unable to break up the deficit, eventually falling in the first 25-12.

Determined to not have the second go like the first, the Greyhounds jumped all over the Flyers in the second with both squads going blow for blow until the 14-13 mark. Sabotin emerged as the catalyst behind the Greyhounds' decisive 11-6 run, helping them secure the second set over the No. 14-ranked Flyers.

The third set was the day's most competitive. The Hounds and Flyers went toe-to-toe, reaching a deadlock at the 19-19 mark. Hegwood delivered a trio of kills, complementing Sabotin's continued strong performance. However, a 6-4 run by the home team dashed UIndy's hopes of clinching the third set.

A big 11-3 run late in the fourth was the nail in the match as the Flyers picked up their 17th win of the season.
