WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The University of Indianapolis wrestling team faced their first dual competition of the year, travelling the hour on I-65 North to West Lafayette, Ind. for the Boilermaker Duals, hosted by Power Five Purdue. The Hounds started their day against the MAC's Northern Illinois, falling 32-12. The No. 7-ranked Greyhounds did not fare better in their second match, dropping a 44-0 result to the host Boilermakers.

INS AND OUTS
Against Northern Illinois, the Hounds fell into an early deficit, dropping matches at 125 and 133 via pinfall, before
Blake Mulkey, the reigning GLVC Wrestler of the Week, got the Hounds on the board. Mulkey took down Dylan Gvillo by a major decision, 11-2 to earn the Hounds first victory of the day. The Huskies would take the remaining matches, minus their bout with two-time national finalist
Derek Blubaugh, who earned the Hounds another extra point victory with a technical fall over Devonjae Hudson at 197.

The Hounds did not fare well against the power-five Boilermakers, suffering falls in three of the first four matches, with Mulkey forcing Christian White to extra time, but falling via sudden victory. The Boilermakers rounded out the dual with a combo of decision victories and a pair of falls to secure their victory.

The Hounds will head back to the tournament scene, traveling to Fort Wayne, Ind. for Indiana Little State on Dec. 2. Action is currently set up for 9 a.m.         Â
