ALBERTVILLE, Ala.—The No. 16 UIndy softball team earned a pair of important victories Saturday at the Charger Chillout. The Greyhounds started the day with a 4-1 region win versus GMAC-member Trevecca Nazarene before earning an 11-8 comeback win over 23rd-ranked Alabama Huntsville.

GAME 1 |
16 UIndy 4, Trevecca 1
Starting pitcher
Kenzee Smith earned her first win of the season with a complete-game effort. She shook off a first-inning run and kept the Trojans scoreless the final six frames, striking out seven along the way.
Â
The Greyhound offense provided all that was needed in the bottom of the first when an
Emily O'Connor sac fly scored both
Maddy Stout and a hustling
Megan Nichols, putting the Hounds up for good.
Â
UIndy tacked on single runs in the third and fourth innings on an RBI knock from O'Connor and a
Sydnee Perry solo shot, respectively.

GAME 2 |
16 UIndy 11,
23 Alabama Huntsville 8
Trailing 5-0 early, the Greyhounds came storming back to eventually knot it at five apiece in the top of the fourth. UIndy pushed across four runners in inning, with
Megan Nichols' bases-loaded triple the primary generator.
Â
The Chargers retook the lead with three runs in the next half inning, but the Hounds once again struck back with a four-spot in the top of the sixth. A leadoff single from
Tori Angles sparked the rally, before
Lexy Rees' double plated
Dominique Proctor with the go-ahead run.
Â
UIndy added two more for good measure in the seventh thanks to a double by
Jocelyn Calvin.
Â
Smith (2-0) again got the pitching win, this time in relief. With the Hounds up just one run, she came in to face a two-on, no-out jam  and escaped unscathed before tossing a scoreless seventh.
