Frost Hits Coaching Milestone as Hounds Pick Up Two Spring Break Wins

LEESBURG, Fla.—UIndy softball's Melissa Frost hit a major coaching milestone Sunday, notching career win No. 800 in her 22 years as an NCAA head coach. Her eighth-ranked Greyhounds earned a pair of shutout victories on the day, thumping D'Youville, 8-0, and sliding past in-region Hillsdale, 2-0.

Frost ranks 16th among all active Division II head coaches in career wins.

GAME 1 | UIndy 8, D'Youville 0 (5 innings)
Casebolt (4-0) got the starting nod in the circle and came through with one of her best outings of the year. Backed by eight runs of support from the offense, the sophomore hurler tossed a two-hit shutout, striking out four and walking none in five innings.

The Hounds plated three unearned tallies through three innings before piling on with four more runs in the fourth. Tori Angles, Shelby Cook and Megan Nichols started the fourth with three straight singles to load the bases with no one out. Lexy Rees' sacrifice fly plated the first run of the rally, and later a three-run triple from Emily O'Connor represented the knockout blow.

GAME 2 | UIndy 2, Hillsdale 0
Earning the start against the in-region Chargers, Kenzee Smith (10-3) came out on top of a pitchers' dual against her counterpart Joni Russell (4-4). She no-hit Hillsdale through five innings and went on to complete the shutout, fanning seven against zero walks to get the victory.

With the score still knotted at 0-0 in the top of the sixth, UIndy mustered a two-out rally that proved to be the difference. Rees kept the inning alive with a two-out single, and O'Connor followed with an RBI double and continued the rest of the way on an error by the right fielder.
