GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 1-ranked UIndy women's lacrosse team used a fast start on the road Friday evening to take down the Davenport Panthers by a final score of 16-7. With the win, the Hounds improve to 8-0 on the season and have now won their last 25 games dating back to March 21st of last year.

Eight different Greyhound players recorded one or more points, led by
Quinn Malcolm and
Joey Fowler who each had five. Fowler notched a team-leading four goals while Malcolm corralled a team-best three assists. On defense, five different players had one caused turnover while
Audrey Moran had four saves protecting the cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The top-ranked Greyhounds had the advantage in the contest early as they raced out to a 5-0 lead as the first period came to a close. Both teams would net a pair in the second as UIndy still carried a five-goal advantage into the intermission.

Both teams netted two more in the third before the Hounds used a late surge in the final period to close things out at DU Turf Field. The Greyhounds tallied seven goals and outscored the Panthers by four total in the final 15 minutes of play.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-The Hounds fired 35 total shots while the Panthers had just 14.
-UIndy scooped up 17 ground balls while Davenport managed to collect 14.
-The Greyhounds were nearly perfect on clear attempts, going 23-for-24.
