Men’s Tennis Rattles Off Victory Versus UMSL in GLVC Opener

INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 2-ranked UIndy men's tennis team opened their conference schedule at home against the Missouri St-Louis Tritons, a match the Greyhounds dominated 7-0.

INS AND OUTS
The Tritons entered the contest having struggled to open their season, sitting at 3-8, having lost their last six. The Hounds took full advantage, storming to another doubles point victory. August Ehrnrooth and Louis Picaud made their debut in the No. 1 doubles spot, claiming a 6-2 victory.

A new pairing of Erwan Momo Andre and Matthieu Derache took hold of the No. 2 slot, also winning, this time 6-3. Rounding out doubles was the Hounds ever-reliable pairing of Nikolaj Talimaa and Jason Gerweck, they mimicked Derache and Momo Andre, also winning 6-3.

Singles kept the action rolling. No. 8-ranked Edgar Destouet was dominant out of the No. 1 spot, winning 6-2, 6-2. That win moves him to 13-3 on the season with an impressive 11-2 record out of the No. 1 slot. And just like that the dubs kept coming, with all six singles matches being decided in two sets. Derache made his singles debut for the Hounds for team action, winning 6-2, 6-3. Axel Sabourin did much of the same, taking a victory out of the No. 6 slot 6-4, 6-1.

Of the other matches, Momo Andre continued to look quality in his return to the lineup, claiming another victory 6-2, 6-0.
