DENVER – The UIndy women's lacrosse team saw its 2023 campaign come to a close in the Midwest Regional final on Sunday afternoon after falling 11-10 in overtime against the Grand Valley State Lakers. With this, the Hounds finish with a record of 18-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hounds and Lakers were locked in a defensive showdown through the opening 30 minute of action. Notably,
Olivia Grogan had already caused a career-high four turnovers in that span of play and helped carry a Greyhound defense that forced GVSU into 11 turnovers. However, UIndy was only able to produce three goals in return on offense which allowed the Lakers to hold a two-goal advantage heading into the intermission.

After a much improved second half by UIndy, the Hounds and Lakers became locked in a 10-10 battle heading into overtime. Despite winning the opening draw of overtime, the Greyhounds were unable to capitalize. On the other end of the field, the Lakers would score the golden goal on a free position to claim victory.
