EAST PEORIA, Ill.—The top-seeded UIndy softball team moved on to the championship game of the GLVC Tournament with a thrilling win against rival Missouri-St. Louis. The Greyhounds sent the two-seed home with a 1-0 extra-inning victory to advance to Sunday afternoon's championship. UIndy will face six-seed Lewis in the final game, scheduled for 3 p.m. ET.
The semifinal victory upped the Hounds' win total 50 on the season, marking the fourth time UIndy has hit the impressive milestone.

HOW IT HAPPENED
With the score still frozen at 0-0 heading into the top of the eighth, the Hounds tapped into an unlikely power source to break the tie. Senior
Maddy Stout, who stepped to the dish without a home run in 175 plate appearances on the year, yanked a pitch to left, hooking it just inside the foul pole for the eventual game winner.

Pitching ace
Kenzee Smith's fourth start in four days was perhaps her best. In the Hounds' first elimination game of the week, the All-American blanked the Tritons for eight frames, surrendering just four hits while striking 10 and walking only one. She moved to 31-4 on the year.
