Women’s Soccer Falls 4-0 to UMSL

ST. LOUIS – The University of Indianapolis women's soccer team (3-4-2) suffered a 4-0 loss to the hands of the University of Missouri-St. Louis Tritons (4-2-2) on Friday night.

It was an early attack by the home team that put them on top by two within the first five minutes of action. Stephanie Brady marked the only shot on goal for the Greyhounds in the contest.

INS & OUTS
The Tritons were incredibly aggressive to start the contest, driving into Greyhound territory early, scoring the first goal of the game at just the third minute. That pace continued for the contest, as UMSL marched right back down the field and scored their second goal within just a two-minute span.

The tides calmed from that point, but the Tritons continued to control the action, with UIndy not getting their first shot off until the 27th minute, that coming off the foot of Brady. The second half of play was quite like the first, with the hosting Tritons tacking on two more goals to reach the final 4-0 mark.

INSIDE THE BOX
- The Hounds struggled to get offense going, only taking four shots in the contest, and one on goal, to the Tritons 13 and seven.
- The Tritons limited UIndy to zero corner kicks.
- Each squad recorded 9 fouls.
- The iron-woman streak for Lyza Shamy continues as she recorded her ninth straight game with 90 minutes played.

UP NEXT
The Hounds will stay on the road for their Sunday, Oct. 1, matchup as they take on the McKendree Bearcats. Action is set to begin at 1 p.m.
